New Supportive Workshop
During the past year Al Mina assistants noticed that the workshop participants were too busy to receive any special education based on their individual needs.
Based on that consideration, Jacqueline Kandalaft ,a staff assistant, was asked to start a new Supportive Workshop. Jacqueline is a very talented and creative person and has been trained to work with all twelve workshop participants in an individualized setting. A specially prepared room, outfitted with two computers, two cupboards of supplies, a table and two chairs has been set aside for Jacqueline’s work. Before beginning her task as a Special Educator, Jacqueline prepared for two months, studying the files of each participant and preparing appropriate programs for them according to their needs and capacities. A visiting Special Educator from France was also able to give Jacqueline some advice in setting up the program. Since Jacqueline began her work, it has been obvious that the participants feel happy and content after spending that enriching and quality time with her. This Supportive Workshop has made them feel important and the attention given to each of them individually has boosted their self confidence and helped uncover their hidden skills and qualities.
